Description

Artemether (20 mg) and Lumefantrine (120 mg) per 5 mL suspension is a combination antimalarial drug that works by killing malaria parasites at different stages of their lifecycle. Artemether, a fast-acting artemisinin derivative, rapidly reduces parasite count, while Lumefantrine has a longer-lasting effect to prevent reinfection. It is commonly prescribed for children and infants who have difficulty swallowing tablets. The suspension is prepared by adding water and is administered twice daily for three days, as per a doctor’s guidance. Side effects may include fever, headache, dizziness, nausea, and weakness.
